February 4th: Sunday’s European Double – 4/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

While Liverpool’s trip to Arsenal might steal most of Sunday’s headlines, there are plenty of other heavyweight affairs from across Europe’s elite.

So, for those of you who are looking to stick on a Sunday flutter, we have found a pair of noteworthy betting tips that can potentially offer a great bang for your buck.

14:00 Lille vs Clermont

Eventually falling short in their bid to book a Champions League return last season, Lille are desperate to go one step further this time around. Opening Sunday’s showdown sat just three points adrift of skyrocketing back into France’s top-three, Paulo Fonseca’s men will know the importance of making a statement of intent when they return to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

Despite being forced to settle for a 0-0 stalemate when they travelled to Montpellier last week, the former Ligue 1 champions should still find the mood in their camp at a continued high.

Lille have remarkably suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous 20 straight appearances across all competitions – an extended purple patch that stems all the way back to a 2-1 loss against Reims way back on September 26th.

Storming their way to the Europa Conference League knockout stage and tipped as a genuine contender in 2024, the ex-Roma boss has also seen his squad continue to shine on home soil.

In fact, continuing on from last season, Lille have suffered just a sole Ligue 1 defeat in front of their own supporters since way back in August 2022.

On the flip side, while Clermont might have sprung a real upset last season as they secured a top-half finish, Sunday’s guests have come crashing back down to earth this time around.

Crashing out of the Coupe de France on January 21st following a 3-1 drumming at home against Strasbourg, the Lancers find themselves at the heart of a Ligue 1 relegation scrap this year.

Recording just a single top-flight victory from any of their previous eight appearances since returning from November’s international break, Pascal Gastien’s downbeat squad should be bracing themselves for a real challenge here.

15:15 Osasuna vs Celta Vigo

While Osasuna might have opened up the 2023/24 campaign with their sights firmly set on mounting another shock European charge, Los Rojillos do have the feel of a squad seeking some recent stability. Dropping out the top-half of the La Liga table, Jagoba Arrasate’s side will know the importance of claiming a welcomed boost on Sunday afternoon.

However, despite eventually falling to a 1-0 loss at the hands of defending champions Barcelona in midweek, the Navarre-based outfit should be smelling a real opportunity here.

Losing just a pair of their previous eight La Liga appearances, the one-time Real Sociedad boss will also be excited by his side’s continued success on home soil.

Last seen at El Sadar claiming an action-packed 3-2 victory against Getafe, Osasuna have won all of their previous three La Liga showdowns in front of their own supporters.

Likewise, not suffering a single loss in Navarre since returning from November’s international break, Sunday’s hosts should be relishing Celta Vigo’s arrival.

At the heart of a La Liga relegation scrap and enduring another domestic nightmare this season, Rafa Benitez certainly finds mounting pressure on his shoulders.

Hit with a 1-0 loss against Girona last weekend, the former Newcastle boss has seen his struggling squad lose all of their previous three meetings against top-flight opposition.

Suffering a 2-0 defeat when they welcomed Osasuna to Balaidos for their reverse La Liga showdown back on August 13th, we are expecting a similar outcome here.
