Fernandinho has declared his desire to leave Shakhtar Donetsk and join Manchester City in the Premier League next season.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium and has confirmed on Twitter that he would like to make the move.
When he was asked by a City fan if he wanted to join Manchester City he wrote: “Yes my friend!!!”
Shakhtar won the Ukrainian League for the sixth time in the eight years that the Brazilian has been at the club this term, but he appears ready to make the move away to the Premier League.
As well as the league titles, Fernandinho has played in the UEFA Champions League every season, reaching the quarter finals in 2010-11, and when they were knocked out of the group stages in 2008-09 he was part of the squad that went on to win the UEFA Cup against Werder Bremen.
The midfielder has three years left on his contract, which includes a 40 million pound release clause, but he has pleaded with club to let him leave at the end of the season.
