Vagner Love’s agent concedes that the CSKA Moscow forward will not return to Flamengo unless the Brazilian club increase their transfer bid.

The Rio-based outfit have reportedly offered 6.2 million euros for the 27-year-old but his Russian employers are holding out for 10 million euros.

Flamengo’s Thursday deadline for finalising the transfer has now passed and Vagner Love’s representative, Diogo Souza, has conceded that unless the club come back with a bigger bid, the deal will collapse.

“Love did everything (he could do), but the Russians do not want to accept Flamengo’s proposal,” Souza said.

“They are immovable. To reach it (the asking price), the club will have to modify their offer. Otherwise it will be difficult to sign the player.”

The striker was supposed to have returned to Moscow by now but the Brazil international has remained in Rio to attend a court date with his ex-wife.

Souza has not completely given up hope on the situation being resolved.

“Vagner wants to stay in Brazil and we will wait until the end of the transfer window.”

Vagner Love, who started his career at Palmeiras, spent seven months on loan at Flamengo in 2010.
