Brescia’s Sandro Tonali has attracted a lot of attention from top clubs around Europe, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The 18-year-old, who has been dubbed ‘the new Pirlo’, has impressed since he started playing for the Serie B side. His excellent performances have persuaded Italy national team coach Roberto Mancini to call him up into his squad for the upcoming Nations League game against Portugal, as well as the friendly the Azzurri will be playing against the USA.
Manchester City, Chelsea, Inter, Juventus and Roma are all interested and set to continue monitoring the young midfielder’s progress. City manager Pep Guardiola apparently went as far as sending scouts to watch Italy train on Monday in order to get a closer look. Despite their currently superb form, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach is keen to refresh his aging midfield, with both Fernandinho and David Silva past the 30-year mark.
