Fulham target made available for sale

Freiburg striker Papiss Demba Cisse has signed an improved deal with the Bundesliga outfit, while given the promise he can leave the club next summer.

The Senegalese striker is a target for a number of Premiership clubs, including Fulham and Newcastle, and he has already expressed his desire to join a bigger club.

Cisse was widely tipped to leave Freiburg in the summer transfer window, but has now been rewarded with a new deal after the club received no concrete offers.

The club chiefs decided to increase his salary, but without extending the length of the contract which runs until June 2014.

“After long negotiations we have found the right solution for both parties,” Freiburg sporting director Dirk Hufner told Kicker.

“It was very important for us that he remains another season.”

Cisse has been promised that he can leave the club next summer if the right offer comes along.
