Galliani: City reject Tevez bid

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani revealed Manchester City have rejected the Italians’ bid for striker Carlos Tevez.

The 67-year-old told Sky Italia after the Rossoneri’s 2-0 victory over Siena on Saturday that the English giants have refused to accept their proposal, but is hopeful they can reach a compromise in a second round of negotiations.

“At the moment Manchester City do not agree to our offer for Tevez,” Galliani said.

“If it is accepted, then good, otherwise he won’t come to us.”

“We will meet with City again and try to convince them from here to January 31. If we do not succeed, then either another striker will arrive or nobody at all.”

“Milan are only looking for a striker on the transfer market after Antonio Cassano’s health problem.”

Links between Tevez and Milan had intensified in recent weeks, ever since Galliani’s revelation that his club had agreed personal terms with the representative of the unsettled hitman earlier in December.

However, Paris Saint-Germain’s entrance in the race to sign the Argentine, coupled with the official’s admission that it may prove difficult to persuade City to agree releasing him on a loan deal has seen the speculation begin to subside.
