Lille manager Rudi Garcia says his side are ready to pounce if Montpellier or Paris Saint-Germain slip-up in the Ligue 1 title race.
The reigning champions have won three matches in succession to close within four points of the leading teams.
Sunday’s 2-1 win over fifth-placed Toulouse has given Garcia’s side new cause for optimism, with the French manager confident they can take advantage if new opportunities present themselves.
“There were a lot of people saying it was over for us (to win the league),” Garcia said.
“We said at that time we will play on, game after game. We wanted to play well in order to have the best chance to win.
“But if Paris or Montpellier drops points, we need to win our games and be ready. But I think, the logic would be that Paris or Montpellier will win the league.”
