Lyon coach Remi Garde has received a two-year contract extension at the French club.
Lyon finished fourth in the 2011-12 Ligue 1 campaign, earning them direct entry into next season’s Europa League.
They also reached the last 16 in the UEFA Champions League, were finalists in the Coupe de la Ligue and won the Coupe de France, giving the club their 16th trophy since 2001.
And the Stade de Gerland based outfit were delighted to extend the deal that will keep Garde – who spent six years at Lyon as a player – at the club until the end of the 2013-14 season.
“Olympique Lyonnais has the pleasure of officially confirming the contract extension of head coach Remi Garde for the next two seasons,” a Lyon statement read.
“He will continue to be supported by assistant coach Bruno Genesio, goalkeeper coach Joel Bats, supervising coach Gerald Baticle and fitness trainer Robert Duverne who all signed identical duration deals.
“Olympique Lyonnais is delighted to be continuing to work with a technical staff that represents the values and embodies the identity of the club.”
