The FA has rescinded Spurs midfielder Tom Huddlestone’s three-match suspension for the red card against Norwich City on Saturday.

The 25-year-old was sent off in the closing stages of Tottenham’s 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane after Mark Halsey deemed his tackle on substitute Steve Morison worthy of a red card.

However, following an appeal from the north London club, the FA have overturned the initial decision, leaving him free to play in their next match at Reading.

The ex-Derby County man struggled with fitness last season, making just three appearances for the club in all competitions, with two of those in the league.

Huddlestone was heavily linked with a move to Stoke City in the closing days of the transfer window as well as being used as a makeweight in the moves for ex-Fulham duo Moussa Dembele and Clint Dempsey.

Andre Villas-Boas is still searching for his first win of the season after losing their opening match 2-1 against Newcastle United as well as back-to-back 1-1 draws against West Brom and Norwich.
