Ibrahimovic fit for Bordeaux battle

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been passed fit to play for Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 clash with Bordeaux on Sunday.

PSG manager Carlo Ancelotti had raised doubts over the Swede’s fitness earlier on Saturday but the striker has been named in the squad that will look to get PSG’s first win of the season.

The Sweden international picked up a foot injury against Lorient a fortnight ago, and had to sit out the team’s 0-0 draw with Ajaccio last weekend.

However, fellow new signing Tiago Silva is unlikely to feature in the game as he struggles for match fitness after winning a silver medal with Brazil in the Olympics.

Silva has trained individually with the club’s medical staff over the past week.

“I don’t think Thiago Silva will be available,” Ancelotti said.

Ancelotti is refusing to underestimate Sunday’s opponents, describing Bordeaux as a ‘well organised’ unit.

“We have to be careful because (Bordeaux) are a dynamic team who play good football,” he said.

“The intensity of how we play will be important.”
