Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has revealed his club are interested in signing Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

Tevez has not played for City since refusing to warm up in the club’s Champions League match with Bayern Munich last year.

AC Milan have been negotiating a loan deal with the Argentine’s representatives, though City are seeking a permanent transfer.

“We are not ‘joking’,” Moratti said.

“We think this could be a good deal. I think it’s normal that we tried to investigate how things are and if there’s still room for a deal.”

“Now let’s see if we can sign him or not.”

It is understood that Tevez prefers a switch to reigning Serie A champions AC Milan.

And Milan CEO Adriano Galliani recently said the club and player had come to an agreement in Brazil.

Manchester City’s reluctance to allow a loan move could see Tevez still playing at the San Siro, but with Inter instead.
