Inter set to get rid of Cesar

Goalkeeper Julio Cesar is on his way out of Inter Milan after being offered to Palmeiras, but the Brazilian club have rejected the chance to sign him, that’s according to Talk Sport.

Palmerias vice-president said: “He was offered to us, but we did not even begin negotiations because he would be too expensiv,”

This could now allow reported admires of the 32-year-old Tottenham to step up their interest in him.

Although Hugo Loris is Andre Villas Boas apparent main target in this summer’s transfer window to replace 41-year-old Brad Friedel, talks with the France captain have been ongoing for a while and they may have to look elsewhere.

Cesar has been the Serie A side’s number one for six years now but after buying Samir Handanovic from Udinese, they look set to offload him to reduce their wage bill.

Villas Boas may now look to make his move for the goalkeeper as he is certainly proven at the highest level.

Spurs could have a fair bit to spend this summer with the likely departure of Luka Modric, allowing the new boss at White Hart Lane to build a squad of his own.

With the talent that Cesar clearly possesses, the Italian side’s decision to let him go may be a surprise to people and a number of clubs could now try to secure his services.
