Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes is ruing his team’s inability to train together because of international fixtures.

Bayern meet Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday having lost their league opener against Borussia Monchengladbach on the opening day.

Heynckes has been without several players during the week due to Germany’s international friendly clash against Brazil on Wednesday, which they won 3-2.

The former Bayer Leverkusen coach said it had been far from the best preparation for a league clash.

“Obviously it wasn’t ideal that we could only work with a small group this week,” Heynckes said on Friday.

“It’s nothing new for a club like Bayern and the other clubs are in the same situation, but I think the time that we have to actually train should be used in the best possible way, working on some things, since it is not enough to play the normal games.”

“One has to prepare and work on the things that are not yet working.”

Heynckes may also be without star winger Arjen Robben, who has only been able to undertake light training this week.
