Errant Joey Barton has received a surprise call up from Newcastle United manager Kevin Keegan for their vital Premiership League match away against Arsenal at the Emirates in London.
Speaking to the media yesterday Keegan explained that he was forced to pick Barton earlier than he had expected as a result of the sale of midfielder James Milner to Aston Villa.
This is BartonÂ’s first call up for his club since his release from prison last month.
Barton is also expected to attend a FA disciplinary hearing next Friday where his attack on a former Manchester City colleague Ousmane Dabo in May 2007 will under the spotlight.
