Serbia have done very well in Group K of the 2026 World Cup qualifications so far, sitting second with seven points, five behind England, two ahead of Albania and three ahead of Latvia.
They will face their greatest challenge of the campaign when they face England in Belgrade on Tuesday, but they welcome the group favourites on the back of a triumph away to Latvia.
The only goal of the game was the work of Dusan Vlahovic, whose fantastic form at the start of the season appears to have made things complicated for Juventus and their head coach Igor Tudor. The future of the 25-year-old at the club appeared in tatters as the Bianconeri boosted their attacking ranks with Jonathan David and Lois Openda, but Vlahovic scored important goals in both of Juve’s Serie A outings so far this season and obviously carried the momentum into the international break.
It was a fine finish in the 12th minute that earned Dragan Stojkovic’s men the three points in Latvia.
