Blackburn manager Steve Kean has branded rumours of a training ground altercation with an angry fan as “laughable”.

The Scot, alongside club owners Venky’s, has been the target of numerous supporter protests this season as the Lancashire club have slipped down the table and look likely relegation candidates.

However, Kean has moved to dismiss suggestions that a supporter had recently stormed the club’s training ground in order to confront him.

“It is laughable really,” Kean told Sky Sports.

“A couple of weeks ago before we played Norwich there were supposed to have been fights at the training ground between players, which never happened.

“Then I was supposed to be in Munich last week, which I wasn’t, and now this week people are telling me that there is supposed to have been things going on at the training ground with a fan.

“We have high security here and there have been no altercations – nothing has happened. It is obviously people trying to stir something up which is not there.”

Blackburn face Lancashire rivals Wigan on Monday, a game that is likely to seal their relegation should they lose.
