LA Galaxy have confirmed they will host Premier League giants Tottenham when they tour the USA during pre-season in July.

The match will pit Galaxy striker Robbie Keane against his former club while former Everton team-mates Landon Donovan and Louis Saha may also line up against each other.

It is another big scalp for the Galaxy who have hosted several big clubs in pre-season before, including AC Milan and Manchester City.

Keane, who scored 93 goals in 238 games for Spurs, said he was looking forward to the clash.

“I’ve still got a lot of friends there and I know the staff so it’s a game I’m certainly looking forward to and I’ve spoken to a few of the Tottenham players and they are really looking forward to coming over,” Keane said.

“They’ll (Spurs) be in the middle of their pre-season and their preparation will be fully on getting themselves prepared for the premiership but I will certainly look forward to seeing the boys.”

Donovan said he was as impressed with Spurs during his second loan spell in England as any side and is expecting a tough challenge.

“To be honest, the last time at Everton I would say that the most difficult game and the best team we played on the day was when we played Tottenham at White Hart Lane,” Donovan said.

“I was really impressed with their variety and the types of players they had. They have some very skilful players with Modric, Van der Vaart, guys like that.

“More than that they were just powerful. When you have Gareth Bale and Kyle Walker and Adebayor and now Louis Saha they are a very powerful team with good leadership and it’s going to be a great game for us.”
