Orlando Pirates midfielder Daine Klate says his side will make use of a ‘psychological advantage’ they have over Moroka Swallows on Saturday.

The South African rivals meet in the quarter-finals of the Telkom Knockout at Johannesburg’s Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday.

“I think getting an equaliser in the last minute was good for Pirates, because psychologically we have the advantage,” Klate told KickOff.com, referring to the late goal Pirates struck the last time the two teams met.

“I think it is a blow for them that they conceded like that.”

Klate, who is fit again after overcoming injury, said Pirates intend to seal their progress into the last four in regulation time, but are ready to go the full distance if necessary.

“In any game you want to wrap it up in 90 minutes and that will be our aim, but if we go to extra time or penalties then we are prepared for that,” he said.

“We always prepare well for those kinds of scenarios.”

“We have to be covered in all aspects of the game and that’s why we have been practising penalties … we have been practising penalties since pre-season already. We will be thoroughly prepared.”
