Borussia Dortmund boss Juergen Klopp is wary of the threat posed by mid-table Mainz when the sides meet in the Bundesliga.

Dortmund are four points clear at the top of the table having not lost in the Bundesliga since September and host 11th placed Mainz at the Signal Iduna Park on Saturday.

The visitors themselves are on a five-match unbeaten run, and Klopp is determined not to underestimate them.

“The fact that Mainz have now five games without defeat is certainly not surprising given the way they’ve been playing in the last few weeks,” Klopp said.

“They’ve had some excellent results since the winter break. Their best performance in quite some time was probably last week when they beat Kaiserslautern 4-0.”

“I can only imagine how much that meant to the side to win a derby match in the style that they did.”

“So when we play against them at the weekend we certainly need to be cautious of what they are capable of.”
