Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany believes that Lille prospect Eden Hazard can be a success in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old Belgian international, who is reportedly being targeted by a number of Premier League clubs, has scored 13 goals from midfield in 37 appearances in Ligue 1 this season.

And Kompany believes his compatriot could transfer this sparkling form to the Premier League with Manchester City, suggesting that he has the potential to play at the same level as Spanish ace David Silva.

Kompany told the Daily Mail: “Silva now, Hazard in five years’ time.”

“With his talent, Hazard could succeed anywhere.”

Kompany has become a vital part of City’s back four since signing for the club in 2008 and is relishing the prospect of winning the Premier League title and becoming a force in Europe.

“I’ve been here since the beginning of the adventure and it’s personal now,” he said.

“I don’t think there are many clubs in Europe with a better future.”
