Looking to make it back-to-back MLS victories this weekend, LA Galaxy will make the trip to a struggling Vancouver in the early hours of Sunday.

Starting with the hosts, putting in what many are billing a season-worst display last time out, it is no secret that Vancouver find themselves in the midst of a real MLS nightmare. Eventually hit with a woeful 4-0 drumming at the hands of Real Salt Lake on home soil, The Whitecaps are sat rock-bottom of the Western Conference. Knowing that they already need a minor miracle if they’re to somehow clinch a Final Series spot, Head Coach Marc Dos Santos finds his struggling squad in the midst of an eight-match winless run. Knowing that they will likely face another stern test at BC Place this weekend, Vancouver should also be concerned by their most recent meeting against Sunday’s opponents. When The Whitecaps last faced off against the former MLS champions back on June 24th, they were hit with a 2-1 defeat on home soil.

As for the visitors, also missing out on a spot in the Final Series last season, there is no doubt that LA Galaxy have continued to impress many this time around. Opening the weekend sat third in the Western Conference, The Whites have collected nine points from their last four MLS matchups. Managing to prove that their 2-0 loss against Sporting KC earlier in the month was just a minor blip, Greg Vanney’s side were last seen picking up a deserved 3-1 victory at home against Dallas. It should also be noted, along with picking up that 2-1 win when they made the trip to Vancouver last month, LA have secured back-to-back victories on the road. Given the recent gulf in class between Sunday’s opponents, we’re backing an away win here.
