Jeison Murillo’s breathtaking effort and Recio’s double spurred Granada to a comfortable 4-0 win over Real Valladolid in La Liga on Friday.

After a sustained spell of early pressure, the hosts moved ahead in the 12th minute through Murillo’s sensational overhead kick from Yacine Brahimi’s cross.

The lead was doubled 10 minutes later as visiting goalkeeper Diego Marino flapped at a corner, leaving Recio the simple task of prodding into an unguarded net.

Recio grabbed his second for a first Liga brace as he twisted and turned in the penalty area before firing a low shot beyond Marino.

Valladolid substitute Daniel Larsson missed a gilt-edged chance to pull a goal back, inexplicably heading wide after being set up by Fausto Rossi.

The hosts then added a fourth 12 minutes from time as Youssef El-Arabi turned home, although replays showed he was offside.

It ultimately mattered little as mid-table Granada comfortably saw out their first win in four games, while Valladolid will drop into the relegation zone if Celta Vigo secure a point at home to Valencia on Saturday.
