Lass Diarra meets with Fenerbahce chiefs; Italian giants to bid for Argentine hotshot

Lass Diarra meets with Fenerbahce chiefs

Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra visited Istanbul some ten days ago to negotiate a transfer to Fenerbahce, AS understands.

The French midfielder is unhappy with his status at Santiago Bernabeu and is widely looking to leave the club at the end of the season.

According to AS, the 27-year-old took advantage of the fact he was not named in the squad to face Valencia and hired a private plane on 7th April to travel to Istanbul.

Diarra watched Fenerbahce beat Antalyaspor at Sucru Saracoglu Stadium before dining with Fenerbahce chief Ali Yildirim.

The Frenchman informed the Turkish club representative that he would request a €6.5 yearly wage in order to join the Turkish giants.

The two parties failed to agree on the personal terms, but they decided to continue the negotiations in the coming weeks.

Provided they can reach an agreement with the player, Fenerbahce would be willing to offer Real Madrid between €8m and €10 for the player’s services.

Diarra, whose contract at Santiago Bernabeu is set to expire in June 2013, recently broke off contract negotiations with Real chiefs and appears to have set his sights on leaving the club in the summer.

Italian giants to bid for Argentine hotshot

The agent of Instituto de Cordoba striker Paulo Dybala has revealed that a number of Serie A clubs are interested in his client.

The 18-year-old forward is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in Argentina and he is widely expected to move to Europe at the end of the season.

His representative confirms that they are evaluating offers from several Italian clubs.

“My intention is not to speculate on the future of this lad, but we do intend to listen to all the offers that arrive and evaluate the best for his career,” his agent told Italian news agency Itasportpress.

“He is wanted by Palermo, but at this moment we are waiting for a counter-offer from Inter and Juventus, who showed an interest in the past.

“If I have to compare Dybala to another player, I’d say he was like Vincenzo Montella. He is very technical and agile, unpredictable when he gets into the box.

“He might not score much with his head, seeing as he is quite short, but I can assure you he’s always ready for a goal.”

The young striker has been in fine form this season, having scored 17 goals in 29 games in Argentine second division.

Marseille join race for Ligue 1 star

Marseille are the latest team to have joined the race for Nancy midfielder Bakaye Traore, L’Equipe reveals.

The Malian international is nearing the end of his contract at Stade Marcel Picot and he is widely tipped to join one of the major European clubs in the summer.

The 27-year-old is closely followed by teams from Italy and England, while L’Equipe claims that fallen giants Marseille are also keen.

The OM chiefs are looking to reinforce the squad after yet another disappointing season and they believe Bakaye Traore would offer great value for money seeing that he would be available on a free transfer.

The highly rated midfielder started his career at Amiens, but it was at Nancy that he made a name for himself.

Traore missed a number of games in the second part of the season due to his involvement at Africa Cup of Nations, but, nonetheless, managed to score 5 goals in 16 Ligue 1 appearances this term.
