Lazio offer €5 million for Croatian defender

Croatian newspaper Jutarnji List claims Lazio have made a €5 million bid for Dinamo Zagreb defender Domagoj Vida.

It is no secret that the Biancocelesti are searching for a new centre-back and they have been linked with a number of high-profile players.

As the end of the transfer window is nearing the Serie A side appear to be becoming desperate and Jutarnji List reports they have made an official bid for Dinamo Zagreb stopper Domagoj Vida.

The 23-year-old already has some European experience, having spent one season at Bayer Leverkusen before returning to Croatia in the summer of 2011.

Vida has scored a decisive goal for Dinamo in the eighth minute of injury time during the Champions League qualifier against Ludogorets, but he is much more famous for his exploits during the previous Champions League campaign.

Namely, the talented defender winked at Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis during the controversial 7-1 defeat to les Gones after taking the ball from his own net, with many believing it was the evidence of the match being fixed.
