Table-topping Veracruz will look to continue their strong start to the Liga MX season against strugglers Puebla on Sunday.

While Juan Antonio Luna’s side are unbeaten in their four games so far, 15th place Puebla are without a win and sit just two points above bottom side Atlante.

However, Manuel Lapuente will take heart from the fact that Veracruz suffered their first defeat of the season in the Copa MX on Thursday, losing 1-0 to Alebrijes de Oaxaca.

Second face third as Morelia travel to Leon, with the visitors enjoying the better form coming into the fixture.

The second-placed side have won their last two games while Leon have been held in their two most recent games.

Current champions Club America will look to pick up their second win of the season against bottom side Atlante.

It represents an ideal chance for Miguel Herrera’s men to kickstart their campaign, with Atlante having lost three and drawn one of their opening games.

Fourth-placed Santos Laguna take on Toluca after all three of the sides above them have played their games.

If everything goes Laguna’s way in the top three then they could move into first, although Toluca are unbeaten in three games since losing to Pachuca on the opening day.

Queretaro can move into the Final Series spots with just a draw against Chiapas in the weekend’s opening game as can Monterrey, provided they register their first win of the season against Tigres UANL.

Second-bottom Pumas UNAM are another side yet to register a win and they will face Club Tijuana.

Having won, drawn and lost once, Tijuana have also scored and conceded five goals, leaving them in ninth place.

Atlas, who sit a place above Pumas, face Pachuca while Cruz Azul host Guadalajara at the Estadio Azul.
