Liga Sagres wrap: Porto move top

Porto moved to the top of Liga Sagres with a 2-0 home win over Feirense on Sunday.

Vitor Pereira’s side overtook Benfica at the summit of the Portuguese top-flight with the home triumph against a 10-man Feirense side.

After a goalless first half, the match swung in Porto’s favour when the visitors had Brazilian defender Luciano sent off just 13 minutes after the break.

Hulk missed the resultant penalty but the numerical advantage was telling as the winners created a host of chances.

Maicon opened the scoring on 68 minutes and substitute James Rodriguez wrapped up the win four minutes later.

Sporting Lisbon sit fourth after they beat Rio Ave 1-0 courtesy of a Marat Izmailov goal.

In other matches, 10-man Nacional won 2-0 at Pacos de Ferreira, while Vitoria Setubal also won with 10 men, defeating Beira Mar 3-2.

Olhanense and Gil Vicente played out a goalless draw in the day’s other match.
