Hapoel Tel Aviv strengthened their grip on second spot in Israel’s Ligat ha’Al on Monday with a 4-1 away win over Maccabi Haifa.
Mirko Oremus gave Hapoel the lead in the 26th minute, but Idan Vered equalised for Maccabi Haifa three minutes into the second half.
Nosa Igiebor put the visitors 2-1 up in the 55th minute, and when the Nigerian midfielder scored his second seven minutes from the end the three points were secure.
But Hapoel were not finished there, with Omer Damari adding a fourth in the 90th minute to complete the rout.
Hapoel moved five points clear of third-placed Bnei Sakhnin with the win, but they remain 14 points behind runaway leaders Ironi Kiryat Shmona.
