After trailing 1-0 for a majority of the match against Crystal Palace on Saturday at Selhurst Park, Liverpool were close to avoiding defeat as Federico Chiesa netted an 87th-minute equalizer. However, a questionably defender throw-in in the seventh minute of stoppage time led to Eddie Nketiah scoring a late Palace winner.
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot was not impressed with the way his players defended their box, particularly with one. He didn’t mention the name of the player, but looking at the footage of the goal, it seems quite obvious he was referring to last season’s Premier League Player of the Year, Mohamed Salah.
Arne Slot calls out one of his players for crucial error in late defeat at Crystal Palace:
“One of our players decided to run out because he wanted to play a counter attack, which was of no use because time was up!” 😤 pic.twitter.com/8JZZiI9Kfm
