According to Paul Joyce of The Times, Nottingham Forest have contacted Liverpool to enquire about the possibility of signing Kostas Tsimikas. There is also interest from elsewhere in Europe in the 29-year-old left-back.
Tsimikas joined Liverpool from Olympiacos back in 2020, and has spent most of his time at Anfield as a backup to Andy Robertson on the left defensive flank. But with Robertson’s form significantly dropping off towards the end of last season, it seems head coach Arne Slot doesn’t consider Tsimikas as a proper candidate for a regular starting spot in his team. The club has therefore signed Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, moving the Greece international further down the pecking order.
As his future becomes uncertain, Tsimikas was not part of Liverpool’s squad for the Community Shield defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday, where Kerkez started and made way for Robertson after 84 minutes.
With two years left on his contract, Liverpool would not be open to loaning Tsimikas out – only an offer of a permanent transfer would be considered.
Kostas Tsimikas not in Liverpool squad.
Nottingham Forest asked earlier in the transfer window about the left-back and there has been more European and domestic interest.
Liverpool would only consider permanent deal at this stage.— paul joyce (@_pauljoyce) August 10, 2025
