Chris Bascombe, the Merseyside-based journalist for the Telegraph, reports that Liverpool will revive their interest in AS Roma’s Alisson Becker.
Two bad mistakes by the current Liverpool No.1 Loris Karius gave Real Madrid their 13th Champions League title on Saturday, and after a decent team performance proved fruitless because of them, the Reds are preparing to enter negotiations with Roma over Alisson.
Karius pushed Simon Mignolet out of the frame midway through the season and has been given its whole second half, both domestically and in Europe, to prove to manager Jürgen Klopp that he has what it takes to make the position his. Having performed at a decent level since then, he threw all his good work out of the window in the Champions League final.
Liverpool had already made inquiries about Alisson earlier in the season, but the £60million price-tag set by Roma seemed too steep back then. Now, they will enter the negotiations with more determination.
