Llorente wary of ´killer´ Rooney

Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente has singled out Wayne Rooney as Manchester United’s main attacking threat.

The Spanish side travel to Old Trafford on Thursday for the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 tie against the English Premier League giants.

Llorente admitted that United were the clear favourites, particularly with Rooney in good form, but said his side were capable of causing an upset.

“Manchester are obviously the favourites. They always play Champions League and compete with teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid. They are one of the big teams in Europe and we’re novices,” Llorente said to EP.

“Rooney is a real killer. He has a great mentality and is a great inspiration for his team-mates.”

“I expect a very exciting game. We are really looking forward to the game, and will do our utmost to get a good result. We have been doing quite well and might cause an upset.”

Athletic Bilbao beat Lokomotiv Moscow on away goals after their two-legged round of 32 tie finished 2-2.
