Luca Toni demoted to Bayern reserves

Luca Toni’s future at Bayern Munich is in doubt after the player was demoted to the side’s reserves squad on Wednesday.

Toni recently returned to training but his level of fitness failed to impress manager Louis van Gaal.

The Italian forward recently pledged his loyalty to the German club despite the signing of Mario Gomez, who is more likely to appear in Van Gaal’s starting line-up for Bundesliga games.

Tottenham Hotspur, Milan, Fenerbahce and Wolfsburg all showed their interest in the 32-year-old, who may now have to reconsider his options.
