Lyon likely to lose Ederson

Brazilian midfielder Ederson appears unlikely to re-sign with Ligue 1 giants Lyon, his agent revealed on Friday.

The 26-year-old’s contract expires in June and he seems to have no intention of extending his stay at Stade de Gerland.

Several clubs have shown an interest in signing the midfielder, but Ederson would prefer a move to Serie A, with Lazio closely monitoring his situation.

“The chance that he will stay at Lyon has really decreased in recent weeks. We have three of four different options, and we will evaluate them all,” his agent Antonio Caliendo told Goal.com.

“Let’s just say that his focus lies on Italy at the moment, I can say that. Lazio are an option. Ederson has a lot of quality, so it makes sense that they’re interested.

“The chance that he will remain in France has dropped significantly, so there will obviously be plenty of talks about his future.”

Ederson has made more than 100 appearances for Lyon since joining them from Nice in June 2008.
