Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath is certain new signings Ivica Olic and Emanuel Pogatetz will become key players for the team.

The Bundesliga side have been busy in the transfer market so far in the close season, and coach Magath believes the additions will play important roles for the Volkswagen Arena outfit in 2012/13.

“We can see that both Olic and Pogatetz will be assets for the inner workings of the team,” he told WAZ.

“They are focussed and professional. They show it in training, they both work very hard.

Another new face to join Wolfsburg is Bas Dost, who moved from Heerenveen, and Magath feels he could have signed a real star in the making.

“He has yet to return to physical fitness,” Magath said.

“What is clear however, from my perspective anyway, is his ability on the pitch.

“I’m excited about him, how he will perform. I’m sure he will take time to adjust, but I am convinced that when he does we will have a top-class striker.”

Finally, Magath offered his endorsement of FIFA’s decision to introduce goal-line technology.

“It is a good decision, which will stop people wrongfully attacking the referee,” he said.

“I think that this is the first step in the right direction and other developments will follow.”
