(GSM) – Chelsea winger Florent Malouda insists the team knows they have not won the title yet after climbing to the top of the table with a crucial win 2-1 over major title rivals Manchester United. Malouda, who was named man of the match after the Old Trafford encounter, admits there remains a lot of hard work for his side if they are to clinch the Premier League title.

“It is going to be very difficult,” Malouda told Sky Sports 1 when asked about his side’s title chances.

“If we play the way we played today, we have a big possibility but it’s going to be very, very hard.

“We wanted to be on top of the league after this game. It was hard but I think we played really well and for us it means a lot after the bad week [when Chelsea crashed out of the Champions League] we had.

“We had to react and we reacted in the best way.”

Malouda felt United’s midweek Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich had taken a lot of energy from them and the Blues capitalized with their quick tempo right after the kick-off.

He added, “Champions League matches take up a lot of energy and that is why we started the game so quick.

“We knew that if we played with a high intensity they could have some problems.”
