Man City to bid for Benfica starlet

Premier League giants Manchester City are readying summer bid for Benfica goalkeeper Ederson Moraes, A Bola can reveal.

New Citizens manager Pep Guardiola has been impressed with the player’s performance in the Champions League tie between Bayern Munich and Benfica, and he is now determined to bring him to Etihad Stadium.

A Bola claims that Man City are ready to start the bidding at €25 million, and chances are that the Eagles will seriously consider any offer that arrives for their talented footballer.

The interesting thing is that Ederson began the season as a back-up to Julio Cesar, but he largely impressed after his compatriot picked up an injury.

The 22-year-old made ten appearances as Benfica secured another league trophy, while also featuring in three Champions League fixtures.

Brazil head coach Carlos Dunga also recognised his potential and surprisingly included Ederson in his Copa America Centenario squad.
