Man Utd and Atletico vying for Djibril Sidibe

European powerhouses Manchester United and Atletico Madrid are locked in the battle for Monaco full-back Djibril Sidibe, according to France Football.

The France international defender has largely impressed since arriving at Stade Louis II and he is now heavily linked with a big club move.

France Football claims that Manchester United are one of the teams hot on his trail, given that Jose Mourinho sees Sidibe as a great long-term successor to Antonio Valencia.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid are also in the race having been disappointed with the performances of Sime Vrsaljko, who was supposed to take over from veteran Juanfran.

Djibril Sidibe is a modern day full-back who enjoys going forward and he has so far produced 6 goals and 16 assists in 81 competitive appearances for Monaco.
