In an effort to destabilise local rivals, Manchester City are expected to make a huge ₤30 million bid for Argentinean striker Carlos Tevez.

The new owners of Manchester City, the Abu Dhabi United Group, have the financial clout to lure players to Eastlands.

It was revealed today that Manchester United have refused to offer their star striker a permanent deal until next summer.

Manchester City are expected to offer the striker a permanent deal in an attempt to capitalise on UnitedÂ’s failure to issue him with a contract in the near future.
