March 4th: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 7/1

While it might be the Premier League that steals center stage this weekend, we look set for another action-packed weekend from across British football. So, for those of you looking to place a Saturday acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Saturday March 4th

BST 15:00 Manchester City vs Newcastle

Extending on their FA Cup adventure earlier in the week as they claimed a routine 3-0 victory away at Championship outfit Bristol City, Manchester City will simply be looking to find some recent stability. However, while Pep Guardiola’s side might have been disappointed after opening their Champions League knockout stage adventure on February 22nd with a 1-1 draw away at RB Leipzig, the Sky Blues came roaring back last weekend. Eventually breezing their way past relegation scrappers Bournemouth thanks to a 4-1 romp on the south coast, the former Barcelona boss will know that three points here would at least briefly leapfrog the Gunners. Looking to lay down a marker to their title rivals, City do appear to have refound their clinical edge in the final third. With attacking talisman Erling Haaland only continuing on a record-breaking run since arriving in the Premier League last summer, Newcastle will know that they face another tough test here. While the Magpies might have impressed many this season, they have shown some recent issues since returning from the World Cup’s winter break. Suffering a 2-0 defeat against Manchester United in last weekend’s EFL Cup final, Eddie Howe’s side at enduring a four-match winless run against Premier League opposition. Likewise, winning just one of their last seven top-flight contests, the former Bournemouth boss will also have a headache over his side’s issues in the final third.

Tip: Manchester City win & Under 4.5 goals @ 5/6

15:00 Bradford City vs Colchester

While Bradford might have eventually had to settle for a bottom-half finish last season, Saturday’s hosts have continued to impress almost everyone across League One this time around. Last seen putting in another professional display earlier in the week as they claimed a 2-0 victory away at Gillingham, the mood in Mark Hughes’ camp should be at a real high. Leading the chase to claim a play-off spot in 2023, some around Valley Parade are even dreaming of a shock charge for the automatic promotion places. Smelling the chance to lay down another marker on home soil, the one-time Manchester City boss has seen his side win four of their last five appearances. With that run highlighted by an action-packed 3-2 victory away at Stevenage on February 11th, Bradford are riding quite the wave of momentum since opening the New Year. Losing just one of their last eight matchups across all formats – a run that stems back to January 10th – Hughes’ side have also found some recent defensive resolve. It should be noted, Saturday’s hosts have shipped just a single strike in their last four straight League One showdowns. Watching Colchester put in another toothless display last weekend as they were hit with a 1-0 loss at home against Northampton, the Essex-based outfit are seeking a much-needed boost. Claiming just a single victory from any of their previous five attempts, the U’s were also last seen on their travels suffering a 1-0 defeat against Carlisle.

Tip: Bradford City win @ 20/21

15:00 Livingston vs Hibernian

Putting in another eye-catching display last time out as they picked up a 2-0 victory against Kilmarnock on February 18th, Hibernian are enjoying what has been a stellar purple patch. Despite getting hit with that 3-0 drumming at the hands of Hearts last month, Lee Johnson’s side have come roaring back in some style. Now taking 10 points from their last four Premiership showdowns, that run is highlighted by a famous 6-0 romp at home against Aberdeen when closing January. As the mood around Easter Road appears to be at a continued high, some in their camp are even dreaming of a bronze medal finish in 2023. Showing some real defensive resolve over the past month and shipping just a single strike on their four-match unbeaten run, it should also be noted that the former Sunderland boss has seen his side lose just one of their previous seven domestic contests. With that run stemming all the way back to January 2nd, Saturday’s guests should be relishing a trip to Livingston this weekend. Last seen getting hit with a 1-0 loss away at Aberdeen, it is fair to say that David Martindale’s side are enduring a real nightmare spell. Including back-to-back 3-0 defeats against Rangers and Inverness last month, the Yellows have now lost four of their last five matchups across all formats. With Hibernian claiming a thumping 4-0 victory when they welcomed the Lions to Easter Road back on December 24th, we’re expecting a similar away win here.

Tip: Hibernian win @ 7/5
