Manchester City’s manager Mark Hughes has received a whopping one hundred million pounds with which to purchase players during the January transfer window.

The Abu Dhabi United Group are giving the beleaguered manager their full backing and are hoping that Hughes can lure some top quality players to the club in an effort to move away from the relegation zone.

Currently City are just two points from the dreaded “drop zone”.

It is rumoured that top of his shopping spree is his former striker Roque Santa Cruz who has stated that he is keen to move away from Blackburn Rovers to his former coach’s Manchester City.

Others linked to a moved to Eastlands are Wayne Bridge (Chelsea), Kolo Toure (Arsenal), Craig Bellamy (West Ham United) and Shay Given (Newcastle United).

Hughes may find it difficult to lure top-class players considering their lowly position in the English Premier League.
