May 7th: Sunday’s Football Accumulator – 8/1

With a stacked Sunday schedule from across this Bank Holiday weekend, we have a string of intriguing affairs that are on the cards. So, for those of you looking to place a Sunday flutter, we have found a few tips that offer great value.

Sunday May 7th

BST 11:30 Atalanta vs Juventus

Putting in another action-packed display earlier in the week as they claimed a 3-2 victory at home against Spezia, Atalanta have continued on a real Serie A purple patch since returning from March’s international break. Now sat just two points adrift of breaking back into the top-four and with their sights firmly set on punching a Champions League ticket, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have won each of their last three top-flight appearances. With their recent flurry highlighted by a stellar 3-1 romp at home against Roma on April 24th, Sunday’s hosts have certainly found a real clinical edge in the final third. Likewise, bagging a trio of strikes in their back-to-back Serie A victories at the Gewiss Stadium, Atalanta should be smelling the chance to make another statement here. While Juventus might have claimed a hard-fought 2-1 win at home against Lecce, it doesn’t cover what has been a worrying domestic blip for Massimiliano Allegri’s side. Despite punching their Europa League semi-final spot last month thanks to a 2-1 aggregate victory against Sporting Lisbon, Sunday’s guests have won just a pair of their last nine appearances across all competitions. It should be noted, with the two Italian giants playing out a pulsating 3-3 draw when they met for their reverse Serie A meeting on January 22nd, a similar action-packed affair can be found at appealing odds here.

Tip: Both teams to score @ 4/5

15:30 Basel vs Zurich

Making real Europa Conference League history on April 20th as they punched their semi-final ticket thanks to a 4-3 aggregate win against Nice, Basel are riding what has been a real wave of momentum. Last seen making another Super League statement as they stormed their way to a 4-1 romp away at Winterthur, Heiko Vogel’s men now sit just three points adrift of breaking into the top-four. Suffering just a single defeat from any of their last seven appearances across all competitions, Sunday’s hosts will be calling on Swiss international Zeki Amdouni to spearhead their charge here. Once again finding the net against Winterthur last time out, the 22-year-old has bagged 16 goals in his last 25 appearances for club and country. Although Basel might have shown some recent issues at St. Jakob-Park on either side of March’s international break, Vogel’s side should be relishing Zurich’s arrival on Sunday afternoon. Forced to settle for a sluggish 2-2 draw at home against relegation scrappers Sion, Bo Henriksen’s men have recorded just a single domestic victory from any of their last six outings. Likewise, suffering back-to-back 4-0 and 4-1 drumming against Servette and Luzern respectively in their last two appearances away from the Letzigrund, the Whites face a real challenge here. Taking just a single point from any of their last four top-flight contests on the road, a home win can be found at appealing odds this weekend.

Tip: Basel win & Over 1.5 goals @ 13/10

21:30 Seattle Sounders vs Sporting Kansas City

While Seattle might have been disappointed after only playing out a 0-0 stalemate away at Real Salt Lake last weekend, the Sounders have only continued to shine since opening up the 2023 campaign. Sat at the top of the Western Conference table and already collecting 20 points from their opening 10 MLS appearances, Brian Schmetzer’s men should be smelling the chance to claim an immediate response here. Suffering just a single domestic defeat so far this season, Sunday’s hosts have also gained a reputation for their continued success on home soil. Last seen at Lumen Field extending on their US Open Cup adventure thanks to a remarkable 5-4 victory against San Diego Loyal, Seattle have also taken 13 points from their five MLS contests in Washington since opening the 2023 campaign. While Seattle might be enjoying an extended domestic flurry, the same cannot be said for a Sporting Kansas squad which are in the midst of a real Western Conference nightmare. Last seen getting hit with a deserved 2-0 loss at home against Montreal, the Wizards have lost each of their last four MLS appearances and they are yet to claim a single top-flight win so far this season. Watching Seattle storm their way to a 4-1 romp when they made the trip to Children’s Mercy Park on March 25th, we are backing a similar home win on Sunday night.

Tip: Seattle Sounders win & Over 1.5 goals @ 21/20
