Napoli manager Walter Mazzarri has delivered a scathing assessment of his team despite their unbeaten start to the Serie A season.
Mazzarri’s men are second on the table having won their opening two matches.
But Mazzarri was critical of his side’s performance in their most recent victory over Fiorentina at home on Sunday.
Napoli defeated Fiorentina 2-1 with second-half goals from Marek Hamsik and Blerim Dzemaili before Stevan Jovetic pulled one back for the visitors.
“Up to the 2-0, we played a good game, we created them some difficulties and kept the ball more,” Mazzarri said.
“I didn’t like the final part of the game, after the 2-0 I got really angry with the guys because at that point you need to manage the game better and not relax as we did.
“That happened last season – we lost a place in the Champions League with that attitude.”
Napoli finished fifth last season, qualifying for the Europa League, while Italian rivals Juventus, AC Milan and Udinese secured Champions League berths.
Parma are up next for Napoli, before their Europa League campaign gets underway at home to AIK Stockholm.
