New Inter boss Walter Mazzarri has vowed to make the club strong again after a disappointing Serie A campaign.
The former Napoli manager has replaced Andrea Stramaccioni at San Siro after Inter finished in ninth place last term.
And he has insisted that he will do all he can to return the club to the very top of Italian football, focusing on a strong will to win within the camp.
“I believe that Inter Milan has to become competitive again,” he said.
“By competitive I mean that all supporters should be proud to see a team that never gives up and battle til the end.

“This will be my first objective. I believe that positive results are achieved through good performances: if we work hard and make good performances, we may have more chances to achieve good results.”
Mazzarri has also indicated his desire to stamp his “certain mark” on the team tactically.
“As far as the squad is concerned, I want 22 players on the training camp plus four or five young guys who can replace injured players,” he added.
“I believe there are already enough players to start working in a certain way and start with the right approach.”
Mazzarri enjoyed a successful four-year spell at Napoli, where he led the club to a second-placed Serie A finish in 2012-2013.
But he admits that the need for a fresh challenge was key in his decision to join Inter.
“I needed to leave Napoli because I hadn’t any more incentives,” he revealed. “That’s what I said also after the last championship match against Roma.
“I could have taken a break if I hadn’t received an offer which could have given me the incentives I needed. I have received a few offers, among which is also Inter Milan’s offer.
“(Massimo) Moratti wanted to meet me and I liked everything and I felt ready and boosted to start this new path with Inter Milan.”
