With England skipper Harry Kane enjoying a record-breaking run after joining German giants Bayern Munich last summer, a host of striking superstars have continued to steal most of Europe’s headlines.

While it might appear that Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah will be staying put at Anfield, PSG icon Kylian Mbappe is set to complete what will be a famous move to Spanish giants Real Madrid over the coming weeks.

With many expecting Europe’s elite to shatter a string of financial records this summer, we have taken a look at some of the all-star number nines that could be set for a blockbuster switch.

Victor Osimhen – Napoli

Making real history last season as they claimed a first Serie A crown since 1990, Napoli’s charge for the history books was certainly spearheaded by their attacking icon.

While the Azzurri might have drastically come crashing back down to earth this time around, Nigerian marksmen Victor Osimhen has continued on another free-scoring flurry.

Once again finding the net last weekend as Napoli were forced to settle for a 1-1 stalemate away at Udinese, the 25-year-old has now scored four goals in his previous five Serie A appearances.

Recording 15 top-flight strikes this season and currently sat third in the chase to defend his Golden Boot, it is no secret that Osimhen is attracting plenty of heavyweight interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

Only continuing to underline his status as one of Europe’s most clinical number nines, the former Lille ace has been linked with both Arsenal and Chelsea over the past few months.

Along with speculation that PSG have identified Osimhen as their standout target to replace Mbappe in the French capital, it has been suggested that Napoli have already accepted their attacking superstar will be on the move this summer.

Viktor Gyokeres – Sporting Lisbon

While Viktor Gyokeres might have only arrived at Sporting Lisbon last summer following a €20million deal with Championship outfit Coventry, the Swedish striker has embarked on a remarkable start to life with the Portuguese giants.

With many now billing the 25-year-old as one of the Signings of the Season, Gyokeres has broken a string of records since arriving at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.

With Sporting officially crowned Portuguese champions last weekend and getting their hands on a 20th domestic title, a huge part of their success has come thanks to their new poster boy.

Now notching five goals in his previous three domestic appearances, Gyokeres has recorded 27 top-flight strikes this season and is storming his way to Portugal’s Golden Boot in his maiden campaign.

However, although Sporting might have made it abundantly clear that they want their striking superstar to stay put past the summer transfer window, the one-time Brighton starlet does have an £85million release clause in his current deal.

Enjoying what has been a breakout campaign this season, The Standard are reporting that Arsenal are currently leading the chase to snap up one of Europe’s hottest attacking prospects.

Luis Openda – RB Leipzig

Although Kane might have continued to steal most of the Bundesliga’s headlines since arriving among Germany’s elite, the Three Lions’ skipper is not the only striking superstar that has received a string of plaudits from across the continent.

Turning down plenty of European interest last year after completing a €43million move to RB Leipzig, Lois Openda finds his stock at a red-hot high and has enjoyed a remarkable breakout campaign.

Now recording five domestic strikes in as many appearances since the start of April, the Belgium international is regarded as one of Europe’s hottest budding starlets.

Registering 24 Bundesliga goals so far this season, the former Lens striker has publicly stated that his dream is to play for one of the best teams in the world and has ignited real interest around a summer move away from Leipzig.

With only the duo of Kane and Stuttgart talisman Serhou Guirassy recording more Bundesliga strikes this year, Openda appears to be high on Manchester United’s summer wishlist.

Although the Red Bulls might have made it clear that they want Openda to stay put for another season, they would reportedly be willing to accept a fee in the region of £70million.
