Paris Saint-Germain winger Jeremy Menez has apologised for his behaviour in his side’s 4-2 victory against Caen on Saturday.

The France international reacted angrily to being substituted for Jean-Christophe Bahebeck in the 73rd minute of the Ligue 1 clash, when PSG were up 2-1.

Menez, who joined PSG from Roma in the off-season and had scored PSG’s second goal against Caen, said after the game that he understood the choice made by coach Antoine Kombouare and regretted his action.

“I really like being on the field,” he told L’Equipe. “But I know I have to respect the decisions of the coach, who has to manage everyone’s playing time through all the matches.”

“I would like to apologise to him because it is not correct to leave the field with that attitude.”

Saturday’s Ligue 1 victory sees PSG stay two points clear at the top, with one game in hand.
