(GSM) – Barcelona forward Lionel Messi praised Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama as “phenomenal” for his great defence after the stopper restricted Argentina to a 1-0 win in their group B game on Saturday.

Messi should have scored his first goal at South Africa 2010 but it was saved by the Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama.

“The goalkeeper was phenomenal,” Messi hailed Enyeama as the goalie denied many opportunities to Argentina.

“He takes all the credit. We played a great game today and created a lot of chances. We just couldn’t get the second goal.”

The Super Eagles’ goalkeeper considered it was his best performance and he also named Man of the Match.

“It would be my best possible performance playing against the best possible player in the world, so it was my best,” he explained.
