AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy has donated a defibrillator to his former youth team Legino.
The act of goodwill comes in the wake of Piermario Morosini’s collapse and subsequent death on the pitch during a Serie B match between Livorno and Pescara.
AC Milan have revealed on their official website that El Shaarawy travelled to the Ruffinengo centre on Monday to present his former club with the medical device to express his gratitude for the football education he received at Legino.
The 19-year-old started his career at Legino, before leaving his boyhood team for Genoa at the age of 14.
He joined AC Milan on a co-ownership deal in the summer of 2011, after a successful loan spell at Padova the previous season.
El Shaarawy has netted twice in 20 Serie A appearances so far this term.
