Milan set to sign Andrea Poli

AC Milan are wrapping up a deal to sign Sampdoria midfielder Andrea Poli, Il Corriere dello Sport has revealed.

According to the same source, the Rossoneri have moved to the pole position to sign the Italy international, with their negotiations with Sampdoria entering the final stage.

Serie A champions Juventus were also keen on the 23-year-old, but it looks as though they are set to miss out on the player’s signature.

Andrea Poli came through the youth ranks at Sampdoria, but it was at Treviso that he began his professional career.

The midfielder, nonetheless, quickly returned to Marassi, although he did enjoy loan spells with Sassuolo and Inter Milan.

Since returning to Sampdoria last summer, Poli has made 31 Serie A appearances and scored 3 goals in the process.

He has also earned three Italy caps and was on the scoresheet as the Azzurri hammered San Marino in an international friendly on Friday.
