Torino are moving to protect their investment in central defender Angelo Ogbonna, according to reports in Italy.
The 23-year-old stopper has long been linked with a move away from the Serie B club, with AC Milan and Juventus both credited with an interest in the player.
Ogbonna’s agent Giovanni Branchini will reportedly meet with Torino officials in the next few days with a view to extending the defender’s contract until 2016.
In addition to an improved salary, it is believed that Torino will allow Ogbonna to leave during the 2012 off-season.
Milan are reportedly in pole position to land the Italy Under-21 international and – while Ogbonna has a 20 million-euro price-tag around his neck – it is understood Torino will settle for 16 million euros.
