MLS: FC Dallas 0 New York Red Bulls 2

The New York Red Bulls kept alive their MLS title aspirations with a 2-0 victory over FC Dallas on Wednesday.

Estonian international Joel Lindpere struck the opening goal for the visitors at Pizza Hut Park in Texas, firing home from six yards, duly assisted by Moroccan midfielder Mehdi Ballouchy.

The Red Bulls were forced to fight for the victory, however, when midfielder Jan Gunnar Solli was given a straight red card in the 79th minute for a two-footed challenge on Dallas midfielder Daniel Hernandez.

Soon after the sending off, both sides were down to 10 when Zach Loyd collided heads with Rafa Marquez, and went off injured after Dallas had already used their three substitutions.

French superstar Thierry Henry added the sealer in the eighth minute of injury time, to earn the Red Bulls a place in the Eastern Conference semi-finals.

New York moves on to face the LA Galaxy in the first leg at Red Bull Arena on Sunday before the second leg in Hollywood.
